The 8th Annual Love our Lobster campaign is underway, according to Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
“Prince Edward Island’s lobster industry plays a very important economic role. In 2015, the lobster industry had an impact of approximately $300 million to the provincial economy,” said Minister McIsaac.
Love our Lobster is an annual campaign designed to increase awareness, appreciation, and demand for Prince Edward Island lobster.
Twenty PEI retailers are participating in this year’s Love our Lobster campaign. When purchasing lobster from one of these retailers throughout the months of May and June, Islanders will receive a ballot for a chance to win great prizes.
Prizes include weekend passes to the PEI Shellfish Festival and cookbooks. This year’s grand prize is a private lobster party for 10 people hosted by Chef Tyler Gallant.
